Little Red Quilt House Offers Children’s Quilt Service Suite

Fairfield, CT (22 December 2004) – Little Red Quilt House announces a package of products and services specifically designed for completion of baby and children’s quilts. Janice Roy, Founder of Little Red Quilt House said today, “Over the past two years we have noticed that a significant number of the quilts we finish are intended as gifts for children. Baby quilts and twin sized children’s quilts are often the result of a gift giving project by our customers. Working closely with our quilt shop partner and individual quilting customers we have collected a variety of resources to offer an array of products and services specifically designed to finish these quilt projects.” Mrs. Roy continued, “As we worked with our customers and vendors we believe we have assembled a suite that exceed our goal.”

Little Red Quilt House has assembled products from Quilters Dream, Superior Thread, Janome and a variety of publishers to create this suite. Starting with batting, the suite includes the Quilters Dream “Dream Angel” product that is a warm and pliable cotton-like batting with flame retardant properties. Mrs. Roy explains, “When first we heard of Dream Angel we knew this would be a popular product. Once we explain to customers what it is and how it works, it is a simple decision to add Dream Angel to baby quilt projects.”

Next the suite includes Superior Thread’s “NiteLite ExtraGlow” mono-poly fluorescent thread. “We were skeptical at first just how true the claims of a thread that glows could be. But when we received our first spool and tested it, we were immediately hooked. What child wouldn’t want glowing moons, stars, clouds of other motifs on their quilt! This thread is just too much fun and we knew we must have it for our children’s quilt projects,” said Mrs Roy. “With it’s heat resistance to ironing and drying we chose this product for the long life and durability these projects demand.”

Mrs Roy describes, “Our staff have scoured quilt shows, magazines and the publishers for motifs and concepts that we can use especially for children’s quilts. We have collected nearly 1000 motifs and developed a number of our own inspirations specifically for these projects. We believe we now have one of the best collections of motifs available giving our customers every possible option. And of course we can still develop custom motifs for our Statler Stitcher systems to any degree of complexity, including quilted text like phrases and names. However, many publishers and designers refuse to grant us permission to post thumbnails of these motifs on our web site. So we will continue to work with customers on an individual basis to present them with options via email and our private Customer Service web site.”

Mrs Roy further explained, “We complete our suite of services with our newest acquisitions, a Janome 10001 embroidering sewing machine and Digitizer 10000 software. With this package we can perform various embroidered embellishments and can quickly custom design embroidery from computer bitmap images.” The Janome 10001 system and Digitizer 10000 software incorporate a live link between the PC and sewing system so that embroidery designs can be near instantly uploaded and run. Images provided by the customer or available via the Internet can be quickly converted to .SEW files that are uploaded to the Janome 10001 and embroidered.

Mrs Roy concluded, “We attend a good number of quilt shows each year enclosing a 1500 mile drive radius from our home in Fairfield, Connecticut. As we travel we have observed a number of constant themes regardless that we are in the North, South, along the East coast or in the Mid-West. And while we don’t yet make it to the far West we believe these themes hold true there as well.” Mrs Roy continues, “When it comes to children’s quilts there is a strong desire to convey fantasy. Quilters want their children’s quilt gift to possess a sense of fun and enduring comfort. We believe that our combination of threads, batting, motifs finishing services help our customers achieve that purpose.”
