Cool Kid Protectors Selects LRQH

For Prototyping and Manufacturing

Fairfield, CT (15 December 2005) – Little Red Quilt House announces a development collaboration and manufacturing agreement with Cool Kid Protectors, developer of a new absorbent protection pad for use with children, during maternity and for pets. “I had developed this product idea for quite some time but had difficulty with the means to prototype and manufacture the product,” said Tammy Cheskis, founder of Cool Kid Protectors. “There are two major hurdles for a new product to reach the market, finding a resource to handle the engineering and prototype development, and then the early product introduction normally limited by low volume.” Ms Cheskis continued, “While offshore companies can develop products and provide mass manufacturing resources, I preferred to find an American company to develop and produce our products. It was essential to me to have immediate access to a development and manufacturing partner. We sought a North American company who would provide all the services I required and could work with me to turn around small product lots quickly as I developed my product outlets. Little Red Quilt House met all my requirements.”

Cool Kid Protectors are a new, patent pending product appropriate for a variety of lifetime wetting situations. For infants the pad is high loft and comfortable for changing. During potty training and for children struggling with wetting the pad can be used at night to protect the sheet and mattress. For older children involved in sports like swimming and for vacation trips the Cool Kid Protector can be used to keep water and harsh pool chemicals from car seats. Mom and Dad will find them useful too! They are quite useful as a maternity pad. And as a pad to protect furniture or car seats for pets is an equally good idea. Cool Kid Protectors are machine washable, fold neatly to fit in changing bag or travel sack and can absorb up to six pints of liquid.

“We were excited to work with Tammy to develop her Cool Kid Protector,” explained Janice Roy, founder of Little Red Quilt House. “From her simple product description and basic portrayal of its application, we set out to help her realize the product. We applied our years of product development, packaging and manufacturing experience to engineer and test the first prototypes, and within a few days ship the first article samples to Tammy for quality assurance and retail readiness.” Mrs Roy continues, “We engineered a quilted pattern that would maximize manufacturing efficiency, limit waste, afford simple retail packaging and allow the product to be highly functional in a variety of applications.” Mrs Roy concluded, “Of course we were also excited to work closely with another woman owned business. We enjoy working closely with Tammy and are developing similar relationships with other women to bring their quilted products to market. Collaborative development, manufacturing and marketing is the most effective way that women can combine their business talents and capabilities to effectively deliver new products.”
