Quilt House has joined professional longarm quilters across the USA and Canada with a
sponsorship of the upcoming new edition of the Professional Longarm Yellow Book.
“Quilting has become one of the fastest growing personal enrichment
activities in North America,” said Janice Roy, founder
of Little Red Quilt House. “Attendance by quilters and quilt lovers at quilt
shows continues to rise. In such uncertain times, the quilting art represents
the spirit of future, hope and community in a unique and special way. Our client
list for professional quilt finishing services continues to grow at a brisk
pace. We now provide our quilt finishing services to nearly 400 clients in 24
States through our mail-in service and cooperatively with our quilt shop partners in Connecticut, New
York, Michigan and Pennsylvania. While
the PLYB is a resource to help us reach quilters nationwide, it is primarily
a convenient and reliable means for quilt shop owners to help quilters source
the products and services they need to complete their projects and further
develop their confidence, skills and enjoyment in the quilting arts.”
 The Professional Longarm Yellow Book is
a service of The Sewing Dealers Trade Association with a new edition due in
the Fall of 2005. The PLYB supplies listings regarding professional longarm
quilters with full contact info including address, phone and web site links
if available. Addition to the PLYB is open to all professional quilters. Quilters
can use the online version via the web, or visit their favorite Quilt shop to
utilize the hard copy version and find the professional quilting services
right for them.
Mrs. Roy continues, “Not all longarm quilters are the
same. Each has different rules, experience, skills, capabilities, pricing and
service offerings. The PLYB gives quilters at all levels a starting point from
which they can efficiently explore the wonderful variety of quilt finishing
services available to them and meeting their economic, timeframe and
stylistic requirements. We feel the PLYB is a superb tool for novice through experienced
quilters alike and we are happy to support the SDTA to publish this
invaluable asset.”
