Little Red Quilt House
Contributes to CLASP Homes, Inc. Fund
Raising Event Fairfield,
CT (5 May 2005) – Little Red Quilt House is pleased
to participate in the “Taste of Westport” event to benefit CLASP Homes
projects and programs. CLASP Homes was
begun in 1976 by a small group of families who had children with mental
retardation, all in the same school class, to plan weekend activities
together. These activities grew to
become routine, and the number of participating families quickly grew. In 1978 the families began to discuss the
future of their children as they grew to be adults and would no longer be
involved in the school system. CLASP
Homes Incorporated was formed in 1982 and continues its work adding programs
to meet the needs of adults with mental retardation and related disabilities. “We are concerned regarding the
welfare of our neighbors who struggle with disabilities and are happy to
contribute to programs like CLASP offering grass roots assistance,” said
Janice Roy, founder of Little Red Quilt House. “My husband Mark has an aunt
with Cerebral Palsy who has for decades struggled against prejudice and
limited assistance for her daily needs.
Supporting CLASP by a contribution of quilt finishing services is our
sincere pleasure.” In a letter to Little Red Quilt House CLASP Homes
President Tracy A. Flood writes “On Behalf of all of us here at CLASP Homes,
Inc. we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your donation of
